Nextel Blackberry 7520 And The Web
Can any of you out there that use Nextel please send me in the right direction for using my Blackberry to surf the web, the entire web? Programs? How to set it up?
Thanks in advance for your help. |
i have tried several unsuccessfully and gave up... i was told by BBsupport at Nextel that the network doesn't support 3rd party browsers, only wap browsers. so as far as i know, if you can't get it with the NOL icon, you just can't get it...
if i am wrong, someone please help us!!! |

Do a search located at the top of the page, there are some many options out there for you as far as applications go. Nextel will not allow you access to the Blackberry Browser, but there is an full HTML browser that should cover you in that aspect and it is faster.
www.reqwireless.com They have email viewers as well as webviewer. There are a lot of post on these subjects, make sure you exhaust them because some people don't like to answer repetitive questions. Just an FYI. :D |
I have the 7520 and have been using Webviewer since day 1, and loveit. But I still wish that Nextel supported Blackberry Browser so I can do OTA downloads.

I have a 2004 Prius that's "Bluetooth" enabled. I use "Nextel" in my business. I have been waiting for a Nextel phone that I could use in my car. The same day that Nextel told me for the umpteenth time that none of their phones were compatible with the car, a friend got a Blackberry 7520. We tried it, and it immediately linked up. The incoming speech sounds great, but the outgoing (on the other end) is broken up and barely understandable. Anyone have any experience with this, or suggestions on how to fix it? I really want to get a Blackberry, but I don't want to subject my callers to the lousy sound. Thanks

Then it must be just BES customers, cause I have been told many times that NEXTEL will not support it.
|
Nextel's blackberry browser will work if you spend the extra money to get on BES, but most people are not willing to pay all that extra money for that option. Reqwireless is faster but doesn't support downloads.
|
You really should follow the links above. Simply put, I have the 7520, no BES (yet) and have been using Reqwireless Webviewer with great success. I used it on the 7510 with same results. Nextel users need to download the corporate version regardless of what their BES situation is. I've had people tell me that it is better than the BB browser, and I intend to keep using it after BES. I think they have a trial version......

THIS WORKS!!

I Have The Blackberry 7520 And Have An Employee Blackberry Email Service With Public Ip, Based On The Web Client Not Bes. I Have Nol And Webviewr Both Work Fine. The Blackberry Browser Is Locked Out By Nextel B/c They Don't Want You Doing Html Browsing. Anyway I Found The Bb Browser Appears On The 7510 Somehow But Not The 7520. I Took The Service Book From My Old 7510 And Copied It To My 7520 And I Have The Bb Browser On My 7520 Now. Problem Is It Will Not Work, Will Not Connect To Inernet, It Did Work On The 7510. So I Suppose Nextel Needs To Unlock Some Features.
