uncaught exception

I have just rebooted my Blackberry 9780 and received the following:
uncaught exception java.lang.negativearraysizeexception.

I don't know what it means and how can I stop it from coming up every time I reboot? Thanks.

Rebooted? how? Pull the battery and do a clean reset. Also did you add any Apps ? That may be the issue. If this was the first time and does not return it may be ok. Generally that error is displayed because of a restriction on third party apps. Some companys do not allow this via the IT policy. You did not indicate if this is a corporate device. Also when an app is not allowed to operate and did not get the permission to run. This link may help

Re: uncaught exception

I received that error message on a couple of occasions, and I believe my related to having downloaded several programs that were basically similar (i.e., travel, gps, etc.). That was done to try out the apps and determine which would be preferred to keep. Luckily, I narrowed down my selections before I upgraded my OS to ver. 6. I no longer receive that error.

In addition, certain apps utilize the java language. Not all are entirely fluid with the BB, or conflict with other similar programs, particularly when their not properly closed/exited and only backed or switched out of.

Re: uncaught exception

Uncaught exceptions can be caused by many things - but the most likely is an incompatile app or tme or a corrupted file.

the first thing to do is to do a battery pull to see if that fixes it and in many cases it will.

If not, then look at the last thing you did before the error popped up. It could be the last app or theme you installed. Try deleting it and see if that fixes the problem.

If not, then you may need to resort to the ultimate fix - wipe and reload the OS.
