BB or gmail thing?

If I read a message on my BB, then it gets marked as read in gmail and delete a message on my BB, then it gets marked as deleted in gmail. However the other way around doesn't work. Deleting or reading in gmail, does not affect the BB. Is this a gmail thing or BB thing and is there anything I can do about it?

I believe I am using BIS on my 8530 on Sprint.

Thanks

Re: BB or gmail thing?

It's the integration between BIS and gmail that is slow. Nothing you can do about it.

Yahoo works much faster.

Read here, good luck.

From RIM

KB21307-Email messages are not deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone when the On Mailbox & Handheld option is selected for a Gmail integration

Is this fix working for anyone? Didn't seem to work for me.

Re: BB or gmail thing?

You might try deleting the gmail account on the BIS server and re-installing it. Sometime the options do not flow and redoing the account works. Do not delete the account on Gmail just the BIS server. push the service books when done and pull the battery to reload the OS and all the accounts.
I tried this by causing it to fail ( reversing the RIM suggestions) and reset everything and it worked. Be sure your following the instructions with the additional I added here.

The reconciliation time can be up to four hours.

Re: BB or gmail thing?

I don't read my messages anymore on Desktop so integration from BB to Gmail is fine. But if I read in desktop it takes forever to mark it read. But "Reconsile Now" take care of the problem.
