Virgin Mobile & The 9780

I am getting conflicting reports about whether this is VM in Canada or here, because when I google it, I see they're selling it unbranded and w/o a plan.
So is this offered in the US through VM?

Virgin Mobile US is a CDMA carrier. It cannot use the 9780.
