9650 Switching between CDMA and GSM
After searching and read some threads in the forum, there doesn't seem to be a seamless solution for the following:
My company requires me to use a Sprint 9650, but I don't want to change my personal Tmobile # or port my account over to the company 9650. Email is no problem flowing into the company 9650. But voice is a bit messy. Rather than keep track of 2 numbers, I continue to operate on the Tmo phone # only, and I set my Tmo account to forward all voice calls over to my Sprint work #. So incoming calls work fine. The only down side is outgoing, where my caller ID will not show what people expect to be my number calling. I understand the 9650 ships unlocked, but even if I put my Tmo sim card inside, I'll have to go through the network switching process every time I want to make a call, and switch back to CDMA in order to get email, so that's painful. But there doesn't seem to another solution, short of carrying 2 phones, which I don't want to do, or am I missing something? |
Nope. You are not missing anything.

Oh well, thanks for confirming.
