I just ordered my 8900 :)

After much deliberation (especially because I was so in love with the Bold... now I'm over that) I just ordered my 8900 from T-Mobile.

I went to see both phones and the Bold just seems huge compared to the 8900. And I really do like T-Mobile so I wasn't keen on switching carriers.

Just had to share... I'm sure I will be on this forum a bit now. :)

Congrats! I believe you will enjoy the 8900 immensely...

Thanks!

I feel very silly for posting my excitement. I know I'll have silly questions in no time, as I always do. :)

Silly about being excited? Here at BBF? You must not know us very well yet! A new device is up there with the other milestones in life! Lol!

I've actually been floating around here for 2 years, but still-- my bf says I'm a dork about my gadgets. He was laughing at my giggliness when I completed my order. But I seriously can't help it. :)

Congrats on your phone.

I just bought the 8900 today after having the bold (too big) and the storm (need the keyboard). I'm a little disappointed that can't get my personal email up and running... T-mobile says I have to wait the full 48 hours for "provisioning" to take affect.

I've never experienced that before.....

dennis8320 03-22-2009 12:14 AM

wife(employee) says depending on if theres a delay or not it can take 2-48 hours so check it once in a while

laur419 03-22-2009 12:27 AM

software upgrade? oooh, do explain. Is the OS that comes with it not the latest one?

Helmdawg 03-22-2009 12:41 AM

Congrats! You will love the 8900, its a great BB...

You can leave the OS that your phone comes with, no worries, it will work just fine. And yes, it will be the latest OS for t-mobile but higher OS's are out there from other carriers and in beta...

Luckily (I think) - I'm not patient...and having BB's before - this didn't seem the norm.

I called T-mobile again. Apparently they have a BES plan that locks out personal email. That is what they put on my account. They changed it - told me I needed to wait 2 to 4 hours "again"....

I was up and syncing in less than 15 minutes....

;-)

My gf just got an 8900 Friday, she's in love with it already!

You will dig the 8900. It is a great phone and I have no complaints. The camera rocks!

Also, the OS that comes preinstalled seems just fine to me. It runs fast and smooth. I have not bothered to upgrade my OS as I see no reason to.

Congratulations! The 8900 is a great device and you will definitely enjoy it.

Loving the Cuve, and when it comes to these kinds of toys, my gf thinks I'm the biggest geek too.
