8820 BB Messenger

I had to uninstall my Blackberry Messenger from my 8820. I can not find a way to reinstall it. I tried the RIM site, but the 8820 from AT&T does not support version 4.0 and 4.1 that can be downloaded. Additionally, I tried using my desktop manager to re-install it, but it is not listed as an available application.

Any thoughts??? I believe it was BBM version 4.2.2. Does anyone have the software, or can anyone point me to a site where I can get it.

Thank you!

You need to run the apploader and make sure the box is checked.

I tried running the app. loader, however, the BBM was not listed as an option.

Do you have you Device OS installed on your computer? You can probably get it from your Carriers website.

Here's a link:

Yep. Follow Steve's advice. You need the OS installed to the PC before you can reload BBMessenger.

I tried that. I have the files for the application loader from the following exe. However, when I try to add the .alx files, I receive the following error message "No additional applications designed for your device were found."

This was what I downloaded from RIM for the .alx files: 8820M_PBr4.5.0_rel81_PL2.7.0.68_A4.5.0.55_F100.exe

You don't "add" it. You simply run application loader and check the box in the list of applications.

Is that the version of OS 4.5 you have on your 8820? You have to install the exact same version you have on your device. Also, don't forget to delete the vendor.xml file.

If that's the version of 4.5 you have I recommend upgrading the OS to the latest found in the sticky threads in the 8800 forum
