Help with BES SRVR Migration
 

I would like to move blackberry (3.6.7.12) enterprise server from one server to another. Downtime is not really an issue and Blackberry wanted $800.00 for a kit and 1600 for support. Is their a way move the server without a kit? If so how? Here is what I have done. I installed BES the exact same version and database name the on the new server (blackberry2). I was able to successfully copy all of the BES folder contents to the new server. I am able to see all of the users and their pins. I have not copied the database over yet since it is in use. I have the proper number of seat licenses installed. I have not installed the SRP or the key related to it. I do not want to fire this thing up and kill the server that is barely working. Any help would be much appreciated.

Interesting that you can see all users and PIN's. Casting my mind back to 3.6 this may be because most of this data is still stored in the BESAdmin and User mailboxes.

Anyway, following on from what you've done so far simply stop and disable BB services on BES1, backup and restore BESMgmt database to BES2 and start services on BES2. May take a short time to get back to full throttle.
