Opening new mail when removing from case - Bug or feature?

My Bold automaticly opens latest, new mail when removing him from the carrying case.
As it is quite annoying and carring the risk of not reading important mails:
Does anybody know how to switch this feature off?

Many thanks

Stefan

This is a feature that can be disabled in screen/keyboard settings I think

Okay I'm certain it is a feature I just can't find it. Need my morning coffee

It's by design. Can't be modified. Just wait a bit. It won't open after about 30 seconds.

That may be why I never experience it I rarely take BB out when I get message/mail

I stand corrected

Feature - if you take the BB out of "In Holster" mode within approximately 15 seconds of receiving an e-mail, the message is opened.

You could have it set to lock when it goes into your holster

Even if your device locks when holstered, it will still display the new email if you unholster & unlock the device within the short time period indicated in previous posts (30 seconds?) after receiving a message.

Does this for texts and bbm messages too I believe.

NJBlackBerry 11-02-2008 12:16 PM

That would be because the BB considers them all messages.
