UConnect and 7100r problems.

I just picked up the aftermarket UConnect for my Jeep, and am having a hard time pairing it.

When I go through the process it says that it pairs up - but thenwhenI get back to using the phone it says "Connection Lost"

Help!!! I didn't want to blow all this money on something I cant use.

I am using v4.0.0.219 for BlackBerry 7100r

On the BB got to Settings > Optons > Bluetooth.

Select the UConnect Device Properties. Scroll down to Trusted and change to Yes. That should do it.

I have it working smoothly on my Durango. You may have to reboot the BB. On occasion I have lost the connection and a reboot fixes it.

Good luck.

I just tried that, and it still didn't work. - I'm a little frustrated with this... but I think that it has something to do with the fact that it's from Rogers in Canada and not the states.

It doesn't make any sense to me since it's the same unit, and same software.

What code did you use to pair it? I was told with the uconnect you can use a standard [generic] code of 0000, but I had issues so I deleted the uconnect via bb, repaired and used my own unique code and it works great.

Good luck....

BTW, when it is connected doe it show you your signal and battery strength on the display?

How do you change the code?? I was told (and all the literature) says to pair it use the code 0000 - Can you change the settings on the UConnect to another code??

BTW - Mine is the aftermarket UConnect, so it doesn't show on the display. It does voice a low signal and low battery warning.

I just entered my own unique new code when pairing and it accepted it. My Jeep's uconnect was factory installed. I must admit, I hate the button on the rearview mirror....My other car, BMW, has the control button right on the steering wheel and that rocks!!!!

With your aftermarket, where did they put the paddle switch thing? I also find it hard to believe that the aftermarket uconnect would be much different than factory, but I don't know a lot about the uconnect system yet. Have you tried http://www.jeepsunlimited.com/forums...play.php?f=181 for any help yet...

In my BMW, which I know a lot about - lots of mods, I installed [myself] their B/T ULF system and it has a few software glitches with my 7100g but works really well. The pairing took me a few times to get it right though.

If problems continue, I would contact the dealer or uconnect direct and see what advice they can offer you.

Good luck...

I read at ( http://reviews.cnet.com/RIM_BlackBer...l?tag=pdtl-img ) that the bluetooth is only compatible with headsets :( Now this is a review of the 7100g but perhaps it's the same with the 7100r

Final word on UConnect at the 7100r - it doesn't work. I ended up buying the 7100g.

It's a better unit anyways...
