BES 4.1.3 / BES 4.1.4 - Export Filters to File

An enhancement to the Management Console in BES 4.1.3, gave the ability to export the filters applied to an individual BlackBerry account to an XML file.

This is an excellent feature but I'm finding that when I try to edit the output file using an XML editor, I receive the following error:

******************
The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A name was started with an invalid character. Error processing resource 'file:///D:/Griffiths,_Andy-Filters.xml'. Line 1, ...

<
*******************

I have discovered that if I open the output file in Notepad, make no changes and then save the file, it will then open in XML Editor. This is all great until I try to import the file again using the 'Import Filters from File' option in the BES Management Console. I get the following error:

"The file selected does not appear to contain a valid set of user message filters"

I very much suspect it's user error ;) but I would be interested to hear if others are able to edit their XML Outputs and then import them again.

Any chance someone could take a couple minutes out to export and attempt to edit a Filters XML file?

Thanks in advance.

To repay your favor of showing me the export feature, I'll mess around with this and let you know how it works out.

Just tried to add a filter to a user's exported file by copying the info from another file, and I got the same message you did. I'll see if I can do a bit of research on this.
