Roxio media manager not detecting my BB

Subject line says it all. I've tried on both my desktop and my laptop. Everything else in the BB desktop manager works fine. And the Roxio Media Manager works as far as finding media in the folders I tell it to watch. But it just will not detect my BB.

Anyone have any ideas?

I have exacly the same problem. I have an 8320 and loaded the blackberry software and everything was ok, to begin with. The sync mode worked ok and I even managed to transfer some pics from the pc but now if refuses to work. I can still sync the phone book/diary etc but when I open Roxio the BB device is no longer detected!!

Any idea's ?

Try mounting your BlackBerry's MicroSD card as just another "mass storage device." That way, you don't need extra software.

I am surprsed that when I connect the BB via a USB without launching the Blackberry software program Windows XP doesnt detect the device!

So mount the SD card as another storage device ? Sorry to sound a little dumb here. How would I do that ?

Fix!

I know for the Blackberry Bold I went to:

Options--->Memory--->Mass Storage Mode Support (OFF)

That fixed my issue and allowed Roxio to detect my phone again.:bb:

as i know, the 7290 can't connect to Roxio media manager ,if you want to copy pictures or tones, you can only use the ipd modle.

Media manager does not support 7200/7700/7500 and older series devices at all.

I think the 7130 with latest OS is the oldest device that it will support. Media Manager is really mainly suited to devices that have memory cards. Such as the 81xx, 82xx, 83xx, 88xx and 9xxx.

Agreed. This is a really a topic for 8xxx or 9xxx models

The dividing line is OS 4.2 - Media Manager (on DM's up to 4.2) and Roxio (on DMs 4.3+) will work on 64mb devices running OS 4.2 or newer.8-)

Did 87xx series ever get supported?

The 87xx with OS4.2 is supported, but the amount of media you can store is limited by the fixed memory.

Why not here? ... the OP has a 7290 and wants info regarding ability (inability) of that device, so this is rightfully discussed here. Unfortunately, the 7xxx series devices only sport at best OS4.1, that is why Roxio will not work on these devices. It will also not work on 87xx with OS4.1 but will work if upgraded to OS4.2.

BB Desktop Manager provides Windows XP the requied device driver for your blackberry device to be recognized....
