blackberry bold 9700 umts network problem
 
i cant use indian gsm sim card in my iphone i live in india i bought it frm uk a unlocked bb bold 9700 when it cums to my hand i upgraded it by v 50.0.0862 after updating its working parfectly. but when i coming to india i m activated 3g servise but 3g service not activated my mobile i contact customer care they toold me go to mobile network select 3g and select umts network



but my phone dosent show the umts option


so plzzzz help me bcoz i cant go or send bb to UK for catching signals & and for activating bb hehehehehehehheh plzzzzz helppppppmeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I don't know, but is your Indian service provider on the same UMTS bands as the device you bought? There are two different model version of the 9700, each one has different 3G bands.

Who is your 9700 branded... what is the vendor ID
On the homscreen, press ALT + rightShift + H.
Top line, what is the Vendor ID?

And who is your service provider in India?

Then compare the two carriers to see if they both have the same bandwidth for 3G.

my vendor id is 120

and my service provider is tata docomo

and service provider using 2100 mhz 3G band

plz repl how to compare

RIM vendor 120 is Vodafone UK/Vodafone Netherlands

It should work fine, I don't know why it is not.
