Pre Population possible on BES 3.6x?
 

Yeah, I know, I need to upgrade BES version, but I work for a University. Until the updates arrive, I'm stuck with 3.6 (still works good though).

I do have a question on pre-population with this old version. Is there a way to enable or adjust the pre-pop settings in 3.6? I've just upgraded one of my users to an 8830 and while it seems to be getting new messages fine, it hasn't pre populated anything previous where other users seem to get some of their old mail.

This is a 4.0 and above feature.

Ahh 3.6 .. When you add someone and you do the initial sync it's from that point forward.

Really push for 4.1 upgrade it's so night and day different it's not even funny.

hmm not sure I can remember the finer points of 3.6..oh yeah that was the one without wireless activation..

You're on such an EOL version it's just not true...better hope your management dont' consider BB to be critical then..

Thanks for the info. Funny thing is that 3.6 has been rock stable for several years, the only thing pushing the upgrade to a new version (other than not wanting to live in the dark ages) are per-domain message filtering and pre-population.

Now I'm waiting on the Technical Support Services peeps at BB to get back to me with a way to retrieve account name/pw info. I figure I should have the new version of the software sometime in 2008 at this rate :)

Also with BES 4.1.6 and 4.5 HH code you have remote search... so you dont need to pre-pop the messages you can search from them on the handheld.
