Password Keeper; BES and old passwords
I have had to swap out my 9630 several times. This is no big deal since the company has a BES server. Every time I do this, and when I run Password Keeper for the first time the following message appears “A password entry created on 9/26/2007 is protected by and old password. Please enter the old password to convert the entry “. I don’t know the password so the entry is deleted. If I reenter the data into Password Keeper, I just loose the data again when I switch the phone, because the same message appears again. My assumption is that this old password is stored somewhere on the BES server. How do I either reset the password or figure out the right answer?

Re: Password Keeper; BES and old passwords
Welcome to the Forums.
Based on RIMxxx8217;s information the password keeper information is stored on the blackberry. I would also think if you do a backup that information including the password will be saved in the backup file. This would mean the password is being re-introduced when you do a restore. Unless you can find the password you will be forced to rebuild the new file from scratch. |
Re: Password Keeper; BES and old passwords
I have deleted the entry, set a new password, and end up with an empty file, which I rebuild. :( ... Things are fine until I need to do another restore from the BES server. I run Password Keeper for the first time the following message appears "A password entry created on 9/26/2007 is protected by and old password. Please enter the old password to convert the entry";. I can't figure out the old password and then I delete the entry again, set a new password and end up with an empty file to rebuild.. It's like the movie ground hog day. Any suggestions to break the cycle?
