battery life of 8700g

About how long does everyone's battery last under normal usesage?

Under normal useage (some phone calls, web browsing etc), I can usually get between 5 to 6 days of use on a single charge.

timay 07-11-2006 09:59 AM

I get 3 or 4 day's usage out of mine.

cutigers76 07-11-2006 11:22 AM

I get around 4-5 days on mine...but usually keep mine charged each night...

darwin.amara 07-11-2006 11:36 AM

Same here: 4 -5 days but keep it charged overnite.

2-3 days, but I am a heavy Bluetooth user, meaning all the time...

A few people have said they get five to six days of battery life. I followed the "Battery Life" thread in this forum and I get three days with moderate usage.

with normal usage (about 20-30 calls a week, 200 emails a week, minor web browsing like ringtones, games, themes) I get about 4-5 days, I think I can take it longer cause I usually have 2 bars left by then, but I can't risk my BlackBerry being off.

I'm curious. Those people who say they are getting five to six days from their BB, how often are you syncing with your computers? You could grab an extra one to two days depending on how often and how long you're syncing with your computer.

I sync wirelessly everyday.

I'm recovering from surgery and lying in bed all day surfing, texting, emailing and some voice calls. Bascially on it all day non-stop. I have yet to kill the thing even after a whole day. Worst I can do is get it down to 25%.

Otherwise, no less than 2 days and can usually glide into day 3 before needing a charge.

Wirelessly syncing won't charge the battery. How about the people who sync via USB, is that why you get six days?

foner 07-12-2006 09:30 PM

On average about a good 12 hours before it's beepin' at me.

Normally I can get 3-4 days on a single over-night charge.

However I recently discovered the BB messenger and now average between 1-2 days.

Curious - how many hours of actual "screen-on" active use are you getting?

If I play 2 to 4 hours of games, 2 to 4 hours of emails, 1 to 2 hours of web surfing and a couple of phone calls, the device is almost out of power. I can do a bit better now that I have the extended battery...now that is a REALLY heavy use day...

Auto On Off

If you go to options, auto on/off and set your bb to turn off at night, this helps battery life

supadupahyphy 07-14-2006 08:32 AM

If I don't play that darn Texas Holdem, it will last close to 4 days. We are talking wireless sync and normal email retrevial with 4 accounts feeding.

If you're consistently in a poor coverage area that will significantly hurt the battery life - not that you can do much about it!
