Yeah Congrats to the President.

Nominations were made 2 weeks after he took office....

The award just lost it's credibility...

Thats just the nomination, also I think his message in the campaign and his inauguration speech made an impression.

LunkHead 10-09-2009 11:11 AM

How can you nominate someone who has done nothing??

Like I said, the award has just lost all it's credibility... I don't stand alone in that statement, read the world remarks in the news....

Not since John F. Kennedy won the Pulitzer Prize for "Profiles in Courage" have I been so proud!

I agree. He hasn't been in office long enough to merit this award, let alone made any major contributions to world peace.

Surprising announcement. Congrats nonetheless

I pretty much agree with the sentiment of several posts so far. I think it was not much more than a message that the committee didn't like Bush. But really, it's not like the guy asked for the award. With his record, or lack thereof so far, he must be humbled and even embarrassed.

this award has been the biggest joke for a long time.

... assuming that the award ever had any credibility... at least in recent years...

How ironic... Obama is announced as the winner of the Nobel PEACE Prize on the say day he attempts to "blow up" the moon... (and no, you can't make this stuff up!)...

Obama embarrassed? He doesn't know the meaning... but on the positive side, with his ego swelling, he head now fits his ears. :)

angelbear1973 10-09-2009 04:24 PM

Are they feaking serious, what has he done to deserve this award?

LunkHead 10-09-2009 04:33 PM

Talking smack on Bush for defending our nation was enough, I guess... If that's the case, I know of several BBF'ers who should have got the award....
