Leaked update OS 2.1.0.1753

Is Blackberry planning to make the new update official and be able to update it in "Software Updates"?

Nope - All support for the PlayBook has been discontinued. May get to see some leaks like this one, but there will be no more official versions.

Too bad that Blackberry has given the "Kiss Of Death" to Playbook. For me, I will be moving out completely out of Blackberry and embracing the "Androids". Thanks for your prompt reply.

Wish I had better news, oh well. As long as you grab something you enjoy using and is useful.

Interesting since we were under the impression all PlayBook support was completely discontinued. By your post in the other forum it looks like this was really an update to Flash security and to address issues with BBWorld.

BlackBerry never said it would not provide security updates, just no future development for BB10

"Software update v2.1.0.1753 Sept. 10, 2013 Includes the following updates for all models of the BlackBerry PlayBook (Wi-Fi only and 4G/4G LTExxx8482;)

- Adobe® Flash® Player security updates to ensure customers remain protected from these issues
- Resolves issues where some users were unable to either purchase or upgrade apps within the BlackBerry® Worldxxx8482; storefront"

Ah ha! Now I see their motivation. Fix something that was interfering with their revenue stream. With a security fix throw in for good measure.
