Software For BlackBerry® Pearl (TM) 8100 smartphone

This will load to any carriers 8100.

BlackBerry Handheld Software v4.5.0.174 (EastAsia)

Package Version: 4.5.0.174
Consisting of:

* Applications: 4.5.0.124
* Software Platform: 2.7.0.92
* File name: 8100EastAsia_PBr4.5.0_rel174_PL2.7.0.92_A4.5.0.124 _Indosat.exe
* File size: 89.15MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

Download here: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...B53786A2C5FA09

This download is from IndoSat but will work on ANY carrier's 8100 model BB. (Not 8110, 8120 or 8130)

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded. (Vista users be sure to right click on the .exe file and select "Run As Adminstrator.")
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

I have upgraded to 8100-v4.5.0.124_P2.7.0.92 from 8100-v4.5.0.55_P2.7.0.68

It took me about 1 hour to upgrade...but the process was smooth.
Currently everything seems to be working fine.

Will use this new OS and get back you all with some feedback in couple of days.

Wireless Upgrade has been there...although it sometimes disappears.

How does the email look better? I don't recall any change from 110 to 124.

Sounds like you've just turned on the HTML email function.

I have also upgraded the Desktop Manager to Version 4.7
This NEW OS is fast and Stable...no problems yet found.

Some New Things to note (may be I am noticing it for the first time because I upgraded to this after a long time from 8100M_PBr4[1].5.0_rel81_PL2.7.0.68_A4.5.0.55):
1) Application MDS Control Center.
2) Blackberry Messenger is back again.
3) Blackberry Maps is back
4) Application "Documents to Go" where you can open MsWord and PPT files stored on media card.
5) Tasks and Memo Pad sync from Outlook is back.
6) Something new in Device Options... Options -> Advance Options -> MDS activation
7) I noticed "attach file" in compose email.

Overall verdict: Its good to have this New OS. Its fast, stable no issues encountered as yet :-) I am happy with it.
