BB 8100 buttons do not work - SOS

My BB decided to go for a swim. Luckily I pulled the battery immediately and let it dry for 2 days. When I placed the battery back, OS loaded and it recognized SIM card and even received calls, but none of the buttons would function. Roller would work, but not the buttons. I tried to upgrade device software, still no response. Does anyone has any advice on what can be done next?
Thank you.
Dan

well, firsdt off the "roller" it called a trackball.
secondly, it probably isn't a software issue, sorry i can't help more.

TBK is right, it is probably not a software issue. Your device has probably suffered water damage despite letting it dry out.

You could take it apart and let it dry out some more and hope for the best, but at this point you may need another device.

It's probably just still wet. Give it a few more days with the battery out. Put it in a bag of uncooked rice for a couple of days.

You could also use one of those little white packets that say "DO NOT EAT" on them, they come packaged with things like new shoes, gun cleaning kits, etc.

Those little packets absorb moisture, just place it in a ziploc with your phone and let it sit for a day or two. (y)

Desicant pellits...Yes indeed another good use for them. They also come in wicker basket boxes. If you work retail, you can grab up some of these when you stock the shelves. I have a few larger bags that I keep in my gun locker.
