Music in the car
 

Ok...I have moved my songs to my Storm (9530) and I would like to quit using my ipod....does anyone know of an adapter that can be used to play the Storm over the radio? Thanks

I would use an fm transmitter or if you have an auxiliary jack in the front of your head unit just run a cord from you headphone jack on the phone to your unit.

Unfortunately, I dont have an auxiliary jack in the front of my head unit and don't care for fm transmitters. I am hoping someone is using an adapter of some sort. Thanks.

You are going to want to buy a head unit that can support bluetooth with A2DP profiles. Most aftermarket head units support this as an option or built-in. I have the Alpine CDA-9886, it comes with USB input and iPod control. I also purchased the bluetooth adapter KCE-350BT.

The b/t works well with the phone and media. You can even listen to videos over the b/t interface with os 4.7.0.75. However in os .83+ watching videos the audio has been disabled over b/t. (sucks, I had to downgrade to .75)..

BTW, FM transmitters suck. Audio quality is not the greatest. I can even tell the difference between usb drives and the b/t audio. The b/t audio is good but the usb and ipod interface is best. I am going to try to connect my storm via usb, hopefully this will work. The main reason is if I am using gps application while driving I still want to be able to listen to my music off of the storm. Don't want to switch between gps and media while driving. The Alpine head unit will handle the media files, while the b/t will handle calls and the storm will handle gps functions (telenav). I also hope the head unit will charge the storm while its plugged in. It does with my ipod.

The Motorola Bluetooth Speaker phone (T505) will feed any audio on the Bluetooth feed to the car's FM radio. It is also a great speakerphone. 73

I would argue that lossy compression like MP3 sucks more than FM, but both of them together make music unbearable for me. I really wish that the Storm could support lossless WMA files.

I just loaded some music on my 8310 Curve, and put a Motorola T505 in my car ( yesterday ) to play music.

The Bluetooth connection to the 8310 happened easily and the FM broadcast to the car stereo seems to operate ok.

I believe I have noticed a significant difference in the quality of MP3 format songs vs. WMA format songs as played via the FM broadcast to car stereo connection.

Does anyone know if there is an obvious explanation for this? I haven't used the ear phones supplied with the Curve, so I don't know if the apparent MP3 v. WMA sound quality difference occurs with other listening modes.

Charging the T505 via the cigarette adapter provided seems cumbersome. I'd like to simply remove the T505 overnight and plug it into the AC charger ( USB connection ) supplied by BlackBerry for the Curve.

Are there differences in charging power requirements for devices that recharge via USB connections such that this is a BAD idea?

[B] - I Charge my T505 with my old charger from my 8330, I have had no issues plugging it in.

Also, I love the T505 ... Fantastic Device and works really well!

I use a tape adapter. Old school but it is cheaper and sounds much better than a FM transmitter.

U GO TO bEST BUY AND GET A IPOD OR MP3 ADAPTER FOR YOUR CAR!!??? THE ONLY THINK THEY DO IS CONNECT FROM YOUR RADIO THIS ADAPTER AND THEN YOU PLUG IN TO ANY MP3 , IPOD OR YOUR STORM !!! SIMPLE AND EASY YOU CONNECT THIS PLUG TO U LITTLE INPUT WHERE YOU CONNECT THE HEADPHONES FROM YOUR STORM AND THAST IT AND YOU CAN HIDE THE CORD IN ANY PLACE

Excellent suggestion on the T505... I think I'm going to take a look at one of these...

i cant even play music from my storm to my cd player via usb :( help
