BES with GroupWise no HTML emails

When I recieve a HTML email the page is just blank on my phone. Here is what I have and what I've tried.

BES version = 4.1.6 MR4
GroupWise Client = 7.0.3
Blackberry phone = Bold os v 4.6.0.167
Messaging options in BB = Enable HTML Email - YES, Downlad Images - YES
BES Server settings Message = Rich Content Enabled - True, Inline Images Enable - True.

I dont' know what else to check. I should be able to get HTML emails, but they are just blank. No image no text.

Any ideas?

What happens when you click on "Get Plain Text"? Does the message appear then (but in plain text)?

Check out this thread: http://www.blackberryforums.com/bes-...ext-email.html

May be of some use.

Why do I not see the option "Get Plain Text"? Is it supposed to be in the menu when reading the email?

jsconyers 06-02-2009 01:11 PM

Is this happening on all messages or just from one sender/source?

Well, yes - it should do....

rogerssa 06-02-2009 01:35 PM

I don't see it at all on my phone or any of our bolds

voda_black 06-02-2009 01:46 PM

maybe somebody running groupwise can advise if they see it on theirs or not....

Anyway, are your emails scanned externally for spam/anti-virus? they may be changing the HTML code slightly which causes the BB to not show the email...

rogerssa 06-02-2009 01:57 PM

They are scanned. I could change it so they are not scanned prior for a test.

jsconyers 06-02-2009 02:00 PM

What happens if you send yourself an email using different colored text, bold letters, etc? How does it show on the device?

I think its worth a try...

what jsconyers said is also a good idea to test it. If that works - then that would more likely mean the HTML theory that I am suggesting - as internal emails would not "normally" go through this scanning service.

rogerssa 06-03-2009 05:25 AM

Correct internal emails NEVER go through the scanning process.

If I send myself a email that has say LARGE RED letters. I get the message on my phone just plain text.

rogerssa 06-03-2009 08:09 AM

I'm running out of ideas. I can't figure out what it is.

rogerssa 06-04-2009 05:21 AM

Anyone else have any thoughts or ideas? I have to be missing something.

airunz 06-04-2009 10:57 AM

sounds like a BES setting is incorrect. Are you using policy?

rogerssa 06-05-2009 05:36 AM

Yes I have one Policy for everyone.

rogerssa 06-05-2009 12:31 PM

What might be the problem in a policy? I don't think I've set anything up that would cause a issue.

mafervil 07-03-2009 03:26 PM

I have the same problem and have no policies. The difference is that I gwia version 6.57 and my version BBM is 4.1.6.13.

CCK01 07-07-2009 02:40 PM

Your BB itself need to have OS 4.5 to support HTML email.

the maddman 07-07-2009 05:30 PM

I have a BES 4.1.6 + Groupwise 7 install that is working fine with HTML. Version numbers all seem right to me, but the fact that you aren't getting the "Get Plain Text" menu item would make me think there is an issue with the service books.

Also, what version of Groupwise is running on the server?
