BlackBerry vs BlackBerry

Just curious as to what your favorite model is? Or, why did you choose the one you own?..

(*Hope this was not put in the wrong spot..)

JSanders 09-19-2008 02:42 PM

8310.

Only because I don't have the bold or Javelin yet. Then I will change my mind.

blakeatl 09-19-2008 04:59 PM

I've only had two. 8700c and my 8100. I prefer the 8100.

jeremyckitching 09-19-2008 05:02 PM

I have had four models and (8100, 8120, 8320 and 8700) and I like my 8320 the best. But like JSanders said, once the Javelin comes out I am sure the 8320 will become my second favorite...

ndub33 09-19-2008 07:30 PM

I have had a 6710, 7230, 7290, 7100t, 7130, 8100, 8800, and 8320. Everytime I upgraded the new one was my favorite. I love the Curve, but that's only until my next model (which I believe will be a Kickstart).

Bottom line: In their own way, they all made me happy.

lol.. read that list, figured i had to...
800, 850, 950, 957, 6280, 7280, 7510, 7520, 7750, 7250, 7130e, 8700r, 8703e, 8100, 8800, 8310, 9000
have had a blackberry since 2000, my SRP id is 6 digits, s107xxx .. bes version 1.
anyway.. i would have to agree, each new one was a favorite, with the notable exception of the evil, vile 7750 on Telus.. ahh! still have nightmares about that one. and the crappy Mike/iDen models too.. preferred the 8703 over the 8700, actually one of my favorites, although the 7280 sure kicked ass on reliability and durability. still have a few around, and still have an 850 for a keepsake.
cant stand suretype, so only had one pearl, and dont plan on another (although suretype is a big step up over past half qwerty models). Loved my curve, have a bold now, but will switch to the jav when it comes. cant beat that form factor.

Christie83 09-23-2008 12:08 PM

Good grief, sounds like you have a BlackBerry for almost every day of the year!

jgudnas 09-23-2008 03:46 PM

only an average of one every 6 months.
but really there are a couple in that list which i only used for a few days (perl, 7750, etc), so not quite so bad as it sounds.

arivera2 10-27-2008 09:07 AM

I have active pearl 8130 with vzw and curve 8330 with sprint..i prefer the second ...

bakerfall 10-27-2008 10:40 AM

I've had a 7290, 8700, 8100, 8800, 8300, 8310 and will get a Bold next week. The 8310 is my favorite until that point :)

krayziebydaflesh 11-09-2008 01:50 AM

i've had the 8800 , 8310 and now the 9000. . I personally fell the bold is best. Its has a combination of the features of the 8800 and 8310 combined.. only downside is the battery life, since i have the ATT branded device im unable to turn 3g off when when i dont need it.. . Battery life on the 8800 lasted the longest from the 3.
Also not sure if it's a hardware issue or carrier but i found the 8800 GPS works the best out of the 3 and by a long shot too.. The 8800 GPS locks on almost immediately while the 8310 and 9000 takes up to 20 min at times to lock on, sometimes it doesnt lock on at all. Keep in mind i tested the gps of all 3 in the same area..

braambo 11-09-2008 06:01 AM

Curve 8320....Seemed the best to get at the time, the next one up I seen from tmob had GPS, I didn't need GPS so I went with this...plus the one with gps was more expensive

me0mu0p 11-09-2008 12:00 PM

Hi all, I'm a newcomer here, nice to meet you!
I've had 6280,7230,7290,8100 and 8700g
I think the newest model is the best but I only use the older (because it cheaper :D )

David.Burke 11-09-2008 12:28 PM

I've only owned the 8300 but so far I haven't seen anything coming out that makes me want to replace it.

rachamphetamine 11-09-2008 03:00 PM

8800 and 8320. Definitely the Curve - I did not hate the keyboard on the 8800 as some do but I like the Curve's more, plus I missed the camera function more than I thought I would. Oh, and that Wi-fi thing is pretty spiffy too.

gfrancis306 11-09-2008 04:29 PM

after buying a curve, i can't go back to teh half-qwerty keypads. my next phone will be either a bold when the price drops a little, or an unlocked javelin

Frank Castle 11-10-2008 09:42 PM

Been supporting BB since 2000 so I've had pretty much every model at one point or the other. The longest was the curve as I loved the form factor, keypad. Got the Bold last week and it's a solid device but feels "large" to me. Can't complain as the screen and keypad are top notch. For now I like it .. till I get the Storm in the next week or so.

Aroc 11-12-2008 12:36 PM

Not as many as some.
BES 2.2 --> BES 4.1
7230 -> 7510 -> 7520 -> 7290 -> 8700 -> (8800 for a day) 8300 -> 8310.
Our Bolds (9000) arrive on Friday. The latest is always the greatest. With that said, the model that does get the hall of fame award (IMO) is the 8700 (even if its been surpassed). The 8700 with is bright, vivid screen, ample memory, and fast 312Mhz CPU was mind blowing at the time. Everything else was more of an evolutionary step. Those who recall the older 16MB color units always running out of memory, with understand my "ample" memory comment.
