The key for service has been updated?

A superior of mine wants to know why he got a prompt with an OK button on his 8830 in our BES environment that "the key for service s[bunch of numbers] has been updated". It could have said changed instead of updated.

What does the message mean?

Better yet, in what situations will device users get prompts like this? Did the prompt really say something about the key store? What is the key store for and in what situations would it be updated? The admin guide and it policy guide don't tell me and searches on bbforums haven't turned up anything useful.

Thanks!

Sounds like the IT Policy changed and the new password set by your superior doesn't match what is in the keystore.

My resolution: clear the key store password by performing a soft reset of the device.

Turns out the message was something like "the key for service [the user's BlackBerry/Exchange server SRPID] has been updated."

The SRP ID has something to do with Exchange server. I'm the BB device guy mostly, so I'm asking my Exchange server/BES guru what the heck a SRP ID is and why it might be changed. If I find out, I'll post a follow up.

In the meantime, If any one here knows, please post the answer.
