Remove Tmobile Browser / Theme from 8520

Hi all, I'm new to this forum. I have just purchased my first Blackberry (8520) from a friend who was on Tmobile contract.

I got the phone unlocked yesterday to use with my O2 blackberry contract simcard which should arrive in the post tomorrow.

The phone had the Tmobile 'web n walk' browser and Tmobile theme. I have managed to download a couple of themes and change them but wasnt too impressed with them so I would prefer the original Blackberry or O2 theme. Does anyone here know if this is possible and where I could download the themes or change the browser using Desktop manager (without connecting to mobile internet).

I have searched the forum and found a thread with instructions on how to unlock vendor themes but I dont think the instructions were for the Blackberry 8520 so I'm wondering if it can be done on my phone?

Thanks :)

Moved to the 8500 section.

Yes, it can be done for the 8520 (to my knowledge) and this is the best route to get the theme you want.

Thanks for the reply.

The first step to unlock vendor themes is to locate the blackberry.alx file. which should be found here:

C:/Program Files/Common Files/Research in Motion/Shared/Loader Files

But the problem is when I go to that location, there is no Shared/Loader Files under 'Research in Motion' (I hope that makes sense)

Is there something I need to do for these folders to appear?

Yes, install the OS to the PC.

Thank you, Ive downloaded it. Now it all makes sense :)

Going to give it a go and see if I can get the O2 theme :)
