BB Curve 8520: I got 2 issues, pls help me resolve

Hi friends,

I do not know why an icon appeared on my bb8520 on the upper left side.
First, the icon says 4. Then it became 5,
and now it's 6.
(see attachment)
Will somebody please tell me how to remove that?

and lastly... when I upgraded "something" i can no longer upload pictures from my phone. It says "no files selected"
the "choose file" botton is not clickable.

Moved to the Help section.

I cannot see the picture as it is not very clear. My guess is that it is some sort of notification, maybe Facebook, new email, etc.

As for your other question, we need to know what you upgraded.
