RIM Server Crash - Effecting Blackberry Email & Data

Spoke with 2 different carriers and they are saying that a server crashed on RIMs side that is causing outages in Georgia and other states in the southeast.

Which 2 carriers?

Sprint & T-mobile have confirmed the outage as well now a RIM account manager.

I did hear that RIM had a 'signing' server up and down yesterday (for developers to get apps signed).

Are you experiencing any outages personally, or is this just what you're being told (not that it's not true, but want to make sure it's not related to the issue yesterday).

I have an office of about 20 blackberry users and they are all on different carriers, as myself I have 2 blackberries, why i have no idea but one of them is personal and it has problems as well as the work one.

I have contacts pretty high up at RIM that have confirmed that there has been a server crash. The outage is sporatic and only causing issues as of right now for Sprint, T-Mobile, and now AT&T

NO issues with email, PIN or BBM here.

Birmingham, AL

You're the only reporting any issues (right now, that I have seen).

And a RIM server crash would affect more than 2-3 carriers in one US region.

So, let's see if others post issues.

Must not be a very widespread, widespread problem!

Ok, I have been reading the threads on this and I am not sure where you get your info on the outages if your not a direct employee of RIM but according to my DOJ account manager at RIM there was a server that was overloaded and caused it to crash and they had to move things over to another to get it up and running. I have talked to all of my DOJ counter parts and they all experienced the same issues in their office across the SE. After confirming from 2 of the main carriers we use this was a RIM issue.

What is funny is that there were at least 109 Cyber attacks yesterday that caused alot of providers to crash or chages to their settings. Its possible that this could have been a cause to the issue as well.

Reporting in from Canada/US.

I have blackberries on NEXTEL, TELUS and Telus MIKE. No issues at all today with BIS/BES and BBM.

About 100 phones spread out throughout the US and Canada.
My girl who is on Rogers isn't reporting any troubles either.

I have users (600 or so, on all different carriers) all over the US and Canada and not a single one of them has called in to report any issues with sending/receiving email.

Yes, JSanders does know what he's talking about.

ATT Outage

My wife and I both are on ATT in Tampa and we both had no data coverage yesterday for most of the morning/afternoon.

NJBlackBerry 09-04-2009 09:34 AM

The local issues continue.

Is it working now?

Tampa is quite a population center, and I've seen no other reports from Tampa on an outage.
