Playing iTunes music on BB

BlackBerry Pearl supports AAC, AMR, MP3, MIDI and AAC + audio formats. For users who have built up iTunes music library with large quantity of songs, they may wish to be able to play these songs on their BlackBerry Peal. NoteBurner provides a solution to convert AAC, M4P, M4B and M4A to MP3 for playback on BlackBerry Pearl.

BlackBerry Pearl can play unprotected AAC and MP3 songs purchase from iTunes Music Store. Most of the music sold on iTunes Music Store is in m4p format. Other formats include aac, m4a and m4b. The open AAC and MP3 music from iTunes Music Store can be added to BlackBerry Pearl easily.

But the m4p and protected aac music from iTunes Music Store cannot be added to BlackBerry Pearl. The m4p and protected aac music is not supported by BlackBerry Pearl.

Those who want to play iTunes music on your BB can use NoteBurner or Tunebite to convert protected AAC to MP3. And then import the unprotected mp3 music to BB.

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830: BlackBerry8830/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105 UP.Browser/5.0.3.3 UP.Link/5.1.2.1)

I think many of the users burn CDs but thank you for the alternative suggestions

same way, knox. iTunes will not play on a BB until the DRM is removed. So burn a CD or something, or follow the suggestions above.

free way to convert

There is a cheaper way to doplay protected music.

I burn the music on a disc and then before I import them I alter the track title with a digit.

"Too Legit 2 Quit" > "Too Legit 2 Quit 1"

and it oworks perfect for me.

For Mac owners, The Missing Sync for BlackBerry transfers protected AAC songs from iTunes to BB and they play great!

What about those of us who just want to play AAC files that have nothing to do with iTunes? My music is all Nero-encoded and of the ones that actually play, only the first few seconds run before error and cueing the next song.

I would check out nuTsie.com, your able to listen to your entire iTunes collection on your Blackberry, they also have a sweeeet recommendation engine that adds tons of songs to your collection.
