9100 work on TMobile?
My 8120 is about to die and I would love to replace it with a 9100. Does anyone know if the 9100 will work on TMobile yet? I keep waiting for them to release the phone.....but goodness they are slow!

Obviously, if it is GSM and unlocked, it should. But given that TMO uses different 3G freqs, it would probably be EDGE only.

WIND Mobile out of CA is SUPPOSE to be offering the 9100 soon. Evidently WIND Mobile uses the 1700 Mhz frequency which is the same one that TMO USA uses on its 3G network.
So you can either wait for TMO USA to eventually offer the 9100 or you can wait for WIND Mobiles version and try to acquire it from them somehow. |

From what I have been reading TMobile is never going to get the 9100. What a disappointment!

Re: 9100 work on TMobile?
I too am disappointed in T-mobile not carrying the Pearl 9100!! I have been waiting a long time for this one too. Sad, very sad!

Re: 9100 work on TMobile?
I moved to a 9700 since I wanted 3G. I also upgraded to 6.0 and I really like it. Do miss the size of the Pearl. :(

Re: 9100 work on TMobile?
Santa was really nice to me and i got a 9100 Sunset. I did have to unlock it to be able to work with T-mobile, but it was very simple. Got a code from e-bay for like $2.... took me 3 minutes to do it all!
SO.... i'm a very proud and happy owner of a 9100 working with T-mobile!! (y) |

Not as good as a Bold or something along those lines. And i've had them all. Also the sales figures for these are not impressive - my friends working for various carriers aren't really selling them as good as hoped! :? |
Re: 9100 work on TMobile?
I dropped my beloved 8120 in the lake and bought another on ebay . . . but as it was in route, my company gave me a 9100 from AT&T . . . 1 unlock code and following the instructions on how to enable UMA later, all is great in the world again. So yes, UMA does work if you follow the instructions.

Re: 9100 work on TMobile?
No 3G though correct? I would guess you're locked to EDGE.

Re: 9100 work on TMobile?
But no 3G, right?

Re: 9100 work on TMobile?
Yeah, no 3G :(

Re: 9100 work on TMobile?
Yes the 9100 works on Tmo.
Just received an ATT 9100 bought from eBay, spent 99cents for an unlock code through eBay, got it a couple of hours later and unlocked it, working fine with a Tmo sim card. No 3g of course, just edge or gsm. Have 2 weeks left on contract with Tmo and switching over to ATT. Don't really want to but Tmo's network reception is bad in my house. My friend's 4G MyTouch has great reception in my house, but there's no 4G Blackberry plus I really don't like Tmo's unique 3g frequencies. |
Re: 9100 work on TMobile?
An interesting side effect I just noticed is that even though I am using my T-Mobile SIM, I can use all of the AT&T hotspots and even get UMA to work on them.

Re: 9100 work on TMobile?
I bought an unlocked 9100 from HassleFreeCell and it works fine on T-Mobile. 3G also works. Yes, 3G works.
