Verizon Storm and BES - Outlook (+) sync not working correctly

I am running .75 on my Verizon Storm and have my company's BES activated for our Outlook/Exchange Server. My Outlook email and Outlook calender come over and run on the Storm fine after activation. However some other items are not working: Outlook Contacts, Outlook Notes, Outlook Tasks, some random configuration settings (email auto signature, email general settings, etc.) and Blackberry Messenger Contacts are not syncing up with my Storm at all.

There are other employees at my company that upgraded to the Storm that are having the same issue - I don't think there have been any completely successful Storm activations here yet. My IT department is looking into it, but no luck so far.

Anyone else running into the same issue? Any suggestions before my IT department says they won't support the Storm

Sorry to hear about your issues... and welcome to the forums.

I am our BES admin... and we are running the BlackBerry Professional Server 4.1.4. I have connected my Storm with none of the issues you mention. But it sounds like the BES is not setup correctly. Have to check the Device.xml file is the most recent.

Thanks! Where does the Device.xml file exist? Is that on the Blackberry Server? I'll pass the suggestion on to my IT guy. They are going to call and work with Blackberry in the morning but are really really hesitant to call Verizon directly to work on it.

Yes, the device.xml is on the BES server itself. Just have the IT guys do a search for that file and it will pop up. And I don't know if this will fix the issue, I just know that I have no issues with the Storm and our BPS server.

Sounds like the Enterprise Activation may have failed to complete successfully.

When an EA starts, the first thing that it does is establish message flow between the BES + handheld, then begins to sync up & enable wireless sync for contacts, calendar, tasks, etc. I've seen many failed activations where message flow is present, but wireless sync isn't functioning.

I know for a fact that the 9530 works without issues on BES 4.1.6 MR1 + MR2.

Thank you both for the suggestions - I'll let you know how it goes after the IT guys check it out tomorrow.

Ditto,
Mine worked fine after the upgrade to .76, but I did have to perform another BES enterprise activation. After that, it's been working flawlessly.
