How does Media Sync find/select Cover Art?
I used Media Sync to extract my iTunes library to the Curve, and I noticed that in some cases I get album art, and other cases I don't. It almost seems random. And I have plenty of space on the Media Card.
Anyone know where it is looking for the art in iTunes so I can make adjustments (if needed)? Thanks! |
it's usually encoded into the mp3's id tag. i use media monkey to add the cover art. there's a free version that works very well for this and other tag editing.
also some cd ripping programs can add the cover art at the time of ripping |

is the art added to the actual mp3 id tag or is it a seperate jpg file in the computer folder where the mp3 files is stored?

It's not an iPod. IPods will read a pic in a file and apply it. Blackberry uses the industry standards of ID3v1 ID3v2 & APEv2 TAG information as it is embedded into the MP3 file. Adding cover art with iTunes does not necessarily put the cover art into the ID# tag data fields. I suggest Mp3tag - the universal Tag Editor (ID3v1, ID3v2, APEv2) as a freeware tool to manage the editing of your mp3 ID tag info.

that's what i was getting at, that it needs to be in the id tag.

I actually found a program that takes the downloaded cover art in iTunes and embeds it in the file automatically. That fixed everything. Thanks, everyone!
