Text Message setup v4.5.0.81 Question
Hello, I just finished the OS update. When I went to my SMS messages I noticed that they are no longer separated by date. I like to keep a few days worth, but also love the "delete prior" option so you don't have to delete each message one at a time. Now with the new set up I can't because it doesn't separate each date with the bold line. I have looked under general options to see if I could add "separate by date", but it isn't an option. Is that just how it is with 4.5? I use it often enough, I may go back to the old OS if I can't change it. Please help.
On a side note, are there any big benefits to 4.5 if you don't use the Internet/email portion? Thanks so much! ;-) |
I'm using 4.5 and mine are seperated by date. 4.5.0.52 to be specific but I don't think .81 made any changes to this.

you can change the option of how your SMS messages are displayed.
I think they one you are looking for is "None" - this one most resembles the "old" SMS message display settings. Options -> General Options -> Separators Hope that helps. |
I'm not sure, but I think this has something to do with SMS that are stored on the SIM card.
I have a batch of text messages that are dated to the current date every time I do an OS upgrade. But at some point I had stopped savings messages on the SIM and those seem to be correctly dated. I don't think downgrading the OS will put them back into their old dates. That info is still there since I can put my SIM into my Razr and they have the dates, but the BB seems to not see that data. |
^.^
Thank you all for such a fast reply, I changed my setting to be "none", so now I have to wait until tomorrow to see if it worked because I cleared them out last night. hehe I will definitely let you know if that did the trick! (y)

Bleh
That didn't work, but I did notice it is "theme controled". I guess with the new update, the theme I use somehow doesn't display the same. Thank's again for your help. I will have to see if there is an update for my theme.
