Appalling build quality on 9100

Got mine and was shocked at how poor the build quality was. The trackpad was indented to one side and the screen was coming loose. Sent it back and got another one and while the trackpad is OK, the glass cover on LCD is still coming loose. HUGE gaps everywhere, surprising for a phone expected to live its life in pockets and pick up lint/dust. Tolerances and QA must have been very poor.

This is my second consumer-oriented BB that has left me utterly disappointed. Can't say enough good things about the Bolds I have owned, but the Pearl Flip and now Pearl 3G have left me swearing never to look at another small BB again.

Incidentally, my phones came factory sealed from South America - Claro is the carrier. They have a made in Mexico sticker on them. Do the US phones fare any better as far as quality goes?

Curious...

Re: Appalling build quality on 9100

Have to agree. I received my 9100 a week ago, and by end of week 1 I had tons of dust between the LCD and plastic (don't keep it in my pocket either) and the number 2 key would stop responding randomly.

Swapped it today with another new device, and this device has the issue where the front plastic over the LCD sticks up higher then the rest of the trackpad/keyboard in a slightly "warped" looking way.

Love the size/speed, hate the build quality.
