Re: Remove IT Policy

I have done the method one. Still, I can see the Enterprise Activation when I click Email Accounts. I have BB Bold 9780, btw. Is there any other way that works?

Re: Remove IT Policy

That doesn't mean there is an IT Policy. Go to Options and type IT Policy in the search. Make sure no policy is listed there.

Hello, I have tried method 1 on a Bold 9700 with OS 5.0 Bundle 1446 and the only option on the device to set up an email account is still with the BES. Do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks

That is beacsue you don't have a valid BlackBerry Data Plan, which is required to set up BIS email. There is no FREE carrier.....

Thanks Stevetaz, I'll speak to my provider and see why I don't have a valid data plan

Re: Remove IT Policy

I have tried to follow this....where is the actual "Policy.bin" download file? Can anyone help me when I rung the regedit and go to HKey users\software\research in motion\blackberry\manager.....then right click the Manager folder and select "new/string value....I see the "default...that is the IT security I want to disable....however...I am suppose to name the value path and then double click the path swkey set value data to: C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\Blackberry\ (then I am suppose to type the "Policy.bin" that i need to save in RIM. Does anyone know how to name the value path and what it should be? and how do I find this Policy.bin file...?

Re: Remove IT Policy

The policy.bin file has been removed. Please follow the instructions in the other method. Editing the registry and manually loading the policy is no longer required on any device with OS 4.5 and higher.

Re: Remove IT Policy

Hi is there a way of getting the policy.bin file? It's all very well to say it's not needed now but I have a BB 8520 and can't find any software to upgrade it to 4.3 or above. It's not THAT old and works perfectly but I want to sell it and need to get rid of the IT policy.

Re: Remove IT Policy

The 8520 released with OS 4.6 and OS 5.0 is available for it. There is no reason for the policy.bin.
