BlackBerry Security On Android

I notice there are several BlackBerry Apps on the Play Store for my Samsung Android. One is the BlackBerry Password Keeper.

Any idea how secure this App is? Safe to put important passwords and other data in it? (Important meaning financial, building access, etc. and not things like passwords to internet web sites)

How about the other BB, and other's, products being marketed as secure storage areas inside the Android machines?

The Blackberry Password Keeper is a secure App but only if you use a long password to access it. As for general security, Android is about as secure as leaving $20 on a sidewalk and checking the next day.

Google is interested in sales and if people read the service agreement which 99.9% don't you will not see any concern for their devices.
They do not specifically vet for software which will cause you problems. Their service agreement states you must check your device for compatibility.
Google, by your agreement to service use you allow them to open and look at all the software on your phone or computer and if they determine you are not the person who has the account they will block access. They state Apps are not for sharing

As for malware or other security issues your on your own.

Using any password keeper software is a decision each user must make and should do a lot of research before selecting one. If it does not encrypt the data sites like google will have access to all your passwords.

You may not like reality especially if your an App developer.

I don't have any info or know of any. Still, I think it boils down to trust for now, and also how you use the device. Much depends on the user. For the most part the user is the weak link.

Another consideration is this. If you have doubts about it, then trust your instincts.

Caveat: I'm not using BlackBerry's android or any android device.

Interesting, the post I responded to before my last seems to have been deleted. Mabe the OP was an App developer and that why the comment that Google Apps are all safe.

There is no such thing as security with electronic devices. Too many back doors and other means such as man in the middle monitoring.

Only real security is to turn it off and place in a radio proof box.

The security offered by the BlackBerry meets the strict government confidentiality and security requirements for remote data access. They also meet the Department of Defense requirements for S/MIME(Secure/Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions) and PKI (Public Key Infrastructure).

Using Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) or Triple Data Encryption Standard (Triple DES) encryption, email and other data remain encrypted at all points between the BlackBerry smartphone and the destination. And, I must Password keeper is very secure, and is also very easy to use!

Re: BlackBerry Security On Android

As Tboltram said everything has problems and all anyone can do is try to keep ahead.
With Google and Microsoft accessing your devices with your full permission after checking the "I agree" box on the user agreements we are now moving into a larger security issue than 99% of the people realize.
To see the level of detail saved, do a pc wide search for .jpg files after you do any cleaning you wish and you will see the hidden files Microsoft 10 keeps from users. Sure the search will pick up your saved photos and other things you know about but try to figure out why they save various photos and links from adds you look at.
Think it's to sell to advertiser's?

The amount of tracking taking place would or should wake people up.
