No charges for parents who left baby in hot car

An Antioch couple whose 7-month-old daughter died in April after she was left in their car for more than 14 hours will not be charged with a crime, a prosecutor said today.

There are so many things wrong in this story I don't where to start...

I can see where 'maybe' each parent could think the other one brought in the baby. But... how can parents of a 7 month and 2 year old sleep til Noon and 2 PM??

Who is caring for the 2 year old while these parents are sleeping half the day?
Wouldn't you think the father would have checked on the baby when he got up if he was the first one up?
Wouldn't you think he would have noticed the baby in the car seat when he got in to drive to the gym?

IANAL but wouldn't you think this might be criminal negligence at least? No matter they didn't willfully cause her death.

This is very sad, but I don't understand the prosecutor's reasoning.

What a crock! Those parents should be locked up for negligence at the VERY least, or manslaughter.

No responsible parent forgets their kid for 14 hours. Gimmie a break.

Wirelessly posted (well lookie here!)

Just friggin WOW! One who forgets a child for 14 hours? Particularly a 7 month that feeds often and craps more!

Neglect!

Chrges should be brought against them and protective services called to monitor the other children

Sad...very sad.

John Cope should be investigated. This would solve a lot of problems. Now where is that run-away grand jury when you need one.
