the app that won't die

what is blackberry messenger for? sending msgs to other bb users, right?

i just traded up from the 8700g to the curve and cannot get this app to close. it shows up in running applications no matter how often i close it. can i safely delete it? can i re-download it or restore from the initial backup i made in case i find i need it?

thanks,

/guy

Yes, it is a two way BlackBerry to BB chat tool. You can't close it.

You can easily remove it via Desktop Manager. It is an installed program (Application Loader) like Tasks and languages.

thanks!

but i can't remove it via the advanced option in the blackberry itself?

i do have the desktop app installed on windows, but i avoid having to use it except in an emergency since i run another sync program on my mac.

[later note: it did let me delete, but i'll bet what you're saying is that if i use the desktop application it will come back if i don't uncheck it. right?]

Later note: Right!
You have removed it, so you are good to go :-)

great.

now to get rid of most of the rest of the im apps that come up running. i'm used to the ?'oz'? application i had on the 8700g which consolidated most or all of the im clients into one app.

tks mucho!

A good reason to not load up your device with these programs unless they are important and you need them.
