8900 updating problem
 
Hi guys!
Just got a new BB 8900 from vodafone romania and i want to update to OS 5.it has v4.6.1.133 (platform 4.2.0.85).the problem is that VODAFONE Romania latest release is 4.6.1.217.I downloaded os 5 from Vodafone uk,Vodafone Spain,Multilanguage,nothing works.i deleted the VENDOR file but when i try to upgrade i get:

the blackberry desktop softwere does not have blackberry device softwere for the device that you have connected to the computer.contact yout wireless service provider or system administrator

What can i do?i realy want os 5 on my device.

Are you following our directions in the yellow sticky at the top of the 8900 section? Did you install the OS on the PC?

yes,i installed desktop softwere 4.7 and the latest os from the top of your page and deleted the vendor file.

worked using nojvm command :smile: problem solved

So dissapointed..the reason i love Blackberry so much is for it's great keyboard and sms stile.but i think the threaded sms is jut awfull.i used os 4.5 until now and i love that old sms layout.i searched the entire web trying to find a way to bring back the old layout into os 5 but no luck.il there any way?if not,i will stick with os 4.6..

No, there's no way. You'll have to downgrade.
