8GB SDHC card in curve

I know with 4.3+ OS I can read an 8GB SDHC card. However to access the card will I have to take it out and have a reader, or will I be able to copy files to the card by just enabling mass storage access and plugging it up to my computer? Right now if I plug the phone up (without a data card) it says it is a storage device, but it doesn't show up in explorer as a drive I can see. It shows up as drive H but when I click on it, I get a "insert disk in H" message. I assume this is just the computer wanting a SD card in the phone. I was thinking I would be able to read/write to the phone itself when plugged in to the PC.

Wirelessly posted (TMO 8120 4.5.0.52)

Once a card is in H will be your media card and you can drag and drop. You can only access the phones internal memory via Media Manager in Desktop Manager. But just FYI you will want a SD card to store media on the internal memory is very limited.

I don't think you can read/write to the fone without a mem microsd card installed.

Taking the mem card out is a pita; I would just enable mass storage support and drag/drop files through explorer.
