If everyone on this forum donated just $5 imagine what could be done for this family? If everyone donated $10, which means you bring your lunch to work one or two days I know the goal would be reached.

Please, everyone, this is so important. I can't imagine the pain this member must be going through at the thought of loosing their home. What is $5.00 in the big picture??

Most of us spend more than that on apps for our BBs.

Ok, maybe I'm just a cold hearted bast**d. I really don't want to be flamed, but in order to get me to pony up my hard earned cash, I need a little more information.

Are we talking about someone who got sick, laidoff or otherwise fell on hard times? Or, are we looking at someone who moved into a $600k house making $50k a year with three no income verified, reverse, negative amortization, arm, junk mortgages. Maybe I'm the only one, but I like to know the money will be put to good use and not prolong the inevitable. Nor do I want to reward someone else's risk taking and/or stupidity which helped to cause this banking problem in the first place.

Since we're on the subject, I think a nice way to help other working slobs like myself, prosper.com where you can loan money to real people and directly impact someones life. Beats sending it to the United Way to enrich the board members.

Our current dollar amount is $1,025.

Those of us that are responsible for making this happen did make sure that the person will be able keep up payments once current, and will not be in the same situation 3 months from now.
