Facebook on Blackberry 8330
 

I have a BB 8330 with Facebook version 1.2. I noticed that version 1.9 is available. My phone will not recognize that there is a new version. HOw do I install version 1.9 on my phone.

Do you mean app world does not show that there is an upgrade available? If so, launch app world and then hold then type alt-RST. After a moment app world will close. Launch it again and see if the upgrade shows.

That didn't work. Still showing that there is no update.

You could try deleting app world and then reinstalling it. Point your BlackBerry browser to blackberry.com/appworld to download it.

From where are you trying to download the update? Inside the application itself? BlackBerry App World? BlackBerry Browser? Somewhere else?

You need to give more details in order for people to provide assistance.

Just saying "It doesn't work" makes it difficult for others to help.

I deleted Blackberry app world and reinstalled it. Also tried deleting Facebook and reinstall. I installed from Blackberry app world and Facebook thru my Blackberry browser.

And when you installed from BlackBerry App World, only version 1.2 is showing in App World?

Try these if you haven't already. Otherwise, you might need to reload the OS to get it recognize the update.

Z99doc, did you solve the problem?

I'm curious if you ever opened the menu while highlighting the app in app world?

Here is why I ask. When I went to upgrade BBM, my app world did not show the available upgrade, neither in the app list or after clicking in the app list and opening the screen for the app. I did alt-RST and afterward the app list screen showed the available upgrade, but the upgrade button was still not on the app screen. However, on the app list, when I highlighted Messenger and then pressed the BlackBerry button to open the menu, Upgrade was there in the menu. I clicked Upgrade and did the upgrade.

So, I'm curious, if you haven't solved this yet, if you will see Upgrade in the menu for the facebook app.

I d/l ed 1.6.017 for os 4.5 from crack berry , then install on your sd card open card in BB and select the jad file , I did this b4 on an 8310 i'm waiting on a 8320 now and will install it ...
