9630 screen cover woefully thin
Just got my 9630, got it home, and started poking around with it. The near-indestructible screens I'd been used to on my 7130e and 8830 have been replaced by a super-thin plastic, and the screen is much closer to the surface. A small amount of pressure is all it takes to make ripples appear on the screen.
I see myself either fatally cracking the screen within a matter of months or waiting for Fortte to release a very secure case for my new phone. Time for the excitement to become nervousness... |
I see no issues with the screen-I have been using mine pretty much non-stop for 7 hours now and anyways why would you even touch the screen? It is not a Storm or i-phone!
|
For those of us who accidentally bump into things, even with a phone holster, thin screens are a scary thing.

OK I hear ya-thanks for the heads up and I shall be careful.

I agree and am not too happy with that.
I was in a car accident last year and the 8330 broke the heavy plastic by slamming into my belt holster, but it faired fairly well. I do not see the 9630 doing so well in a similar incident. :-( Why is RIM stepping backwards on this one? |
Get a set of Case Mate Privacy Screen Protectors......They are the Bomb.com

I got the privacy screen rfom Verizon for $10 and it is fairly thick. Seems to be decent quality. I'm sure you can find others for cheaper.

Wirelessly posted
I wondered about this as well. Time will tell I guess. |
