Cannot get my computer to recognize the Desktop Manager
New guy here, and right away, problems...
I'm having problems installing the software for my new 8330. I've tried both the CD and the on-line installs, and have also checked the help files on-line for this issue. Every time I try to do the Desktop Manager, it will unload, unzip, and start the install, and then halt when it cannot find the right database file. Error text: Quote:
I have a C:TEMP and a C:TEMP2 file, but when I do the recommended %TEMP% search, I come up with a file not found error. Any suggestions? I bought this device so I could sync with my daily planner, and I really need it! Here's what I'm trying to download: Software Name: Desktop Manager 4.5.0 B16 English - With Media Manager File Name: 450_b016_english.exe Download Size: 192.265 MB Language: English Published Date: 06/20/2008 Thanks! |
Try DM 4.7 it works very well. And if you have vista, right click on the file and run as admin. Also make sure you download the file and not run the file.

I'll try the download versus run thing, but the odd deal is that it also will not run from the CD, which should be running as a saved program. I'll also see if I can do the "run as" thing as an admin. The big issue seems to be a missing or non-availability for the C://TEMP file, possibly due to the file structure on this computer (partitioned so that everything saved goes to D). Thanks for the help. |
Just repeated the process -- same issue. Still no access to C:/TEMP.
I have to figure out how to write to that drive. Edit: I checked permissions, but still cannot write to C:TEMP Also, when running the test %TEMP% (according to Blackberry help) it comes up file not found, even though I can browse to C:/TEMP at will. Any ideas? |
