Call Blocking Apps ?

i am using BlockIt call blocking app,

i am happy with it except for one feature, when it blocks calls they go to voicemail, are there any call blocking apps that will just hang up on the caller, and not let them leave a voicemail?...i have a blackberry classic btw

Re: Call Blocking Apps ?

I looked at various services including Rogers and it seems none block calls as is done on home phone service. I would suspect because the calls are being sent from various radio locations vs. a single central office as is the case for home phones, it is impossible to effectively block calls so they simply do not offer the service on cells.
The Apps offered also are limited and cannot block calls before they are received by the cell phone so the App simply forwards the incoming call to your voice mail.
Not good but the best available now.

I suspect such a feature would have to be implemented at the network, not on the handset or device. At least I have never heard of an app that does what is requested.

To add, to my irritation, I know that rejecting a call doesn't stop the caller from leaving a voice mail. It is happening with call spammers and fraudsters multiple time a day now. And to ad further, these people are sneaky. As soon as I blocked a number they would be using another to call be.

Re: Call Blocking Apps ?

Sadly when they can make calls from an internet connection they can assign any number to it we are stuck. I receive calls the caller ID shows as my own number. I think there is a bill in Congress to stop them but when they are out of the country not much can be done. It did not take the spammers long to find out how to use the internet to do this.
I had to change call plan to an unlimited version to avoid call charges when they exceeded my plan. Calling the carriers is useless
