Need a Hard Reset
I have a Blackberry Bold 9650 that the trackpad has become unresponsive. I am in need to conducting a hard reset to completely wipe the device back to factory settings. But, due to the unresponsive trackpad, I am unable to get to Options>Security>Handheld Wipe
Would someone please provide an alternative so that I may wipe this device of all its information and settings? Thanks :bb: |
Re: Need a Hard Reset
You can navigate using the keyboard (first letter key in menus, return and space on screens, etc). Turn off dial from home in phone options. Then use O key to enter options, and use the keypad to navigate to security, etc.

Use BBSAK on a computer.

Re: Need a Hard Reset
Do a battery pull and see if it resets. Then you can wipe if you need to do so.

Re: Need a Hard Reset
On CIO.com there are "instructions" on how to do this using the keypad alone. I read an article there that talks about "soft resets", "hard resets" and "double-soft" resets.

Re: Need a Hard Reset
A battery pull is the best way to do a hard reset. It works.
