A good move I think. If RIM intends to keep and promote the PB, it needs to retain its own identity and have apps made for it.

I have 4 android apps, all loaded from App World. Two of them I could do without. This won't hurt me too much.

Same as, Im glad RIM is keeping a control over things, the Google Play store is full of cr*p with only a few good apps on it, getting rid of my xoom in a bit as got the misses to goto a BlackBerry instead :)
