Software uninstall

Hello,

I have a Blackberry Z10 with OS 10.3.2.2836.
I am trying to install Viber (older version) and I get the message that a newer version has been perviously installed so old version will not install.

Can anybody tell me how it is possible to remove any pieces of previous installation?
I have an iMac, but I also have access to Win10 PC in case some software would be needed to dig out any pieces of previous installation.

I am using Chrome to sideload different software and I also have Snap sideloaded.

I would appreciate any help!

Happy New Year!
László

Re: Software uninstall

Ok. So, you did have a version of Viber installed earlier? And you uninstalled it by the usual method?

I know of the app, but not more than that. I'm guessing it is an android app?

Double check your OS version. I believe you have stated the software release number, not the OS version, and the OS version is 10.3.2.2876. For most troubleshooting situations, user and BlackBerry documentation refers to OS version, not software release number.

So, to the point. See the following.

Unable to uninstall Android applications after updating to BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.3.2

I think you will find this fits your situation and sounds like you haven't applied the update. If you look in device monitor and the app permissions in settings and still see the Viber there, then that would confirm it.

Scroll down to the solution and apply the update as described.

Re: Software uninstall

Thank a lot for your kind reply and help.
I will check the link and apply whatever is needed.

You are right regarding the OS version.
Release number: 10.3.2.2836
OS version number: 10.3.2.2876
WLAN: 1.1
Radio: 10.3.2.2877

Where can I find device monitor and app permissions?

Thanks again!
László

Re: Software uninstall

Device monitor can be accessed in the quick settings (swipe down from top).

App Manager can be accessed in device settings. You can also access Device Monitor from there. And app permissions.

Maybe a reboot will help?
