Bluetooth Discoverable 2 Minutes?
 

I just bought a new stereo for my car, and it has an option to play from my Blackberry via Bluetooth. The guy who set it up told me to set my Bluetooth option to discoverable. I notice, however, that I have the 2 minutes option also. I think I understand what the 2 Minutes means, that the device will be hidden to all other devices after 2 minutes. Two minutes after what point in time? When I turn the phone on? In other words, for my car stereo that is searching for my device via Bluetooth when I turn the stereo on, will it not find my phone because I turned the phone on early this morning and the two minutes have already elapsed?

The question is simply this: should I always set my Bluetooth option to On or 2 Minutes for the sake of my car stereo?

2 minutes is how long your device will be seen by other Bluetooth devices.

You only need it set up like that the first time, after you are paired with your stereo, you shouldn't even need to turn that option on.

Keep Bluetooth on, and discovery to off. Shouldn't have an issue.

I BT into my car stereo too. Once that initial pairing is done, it will keep the device in a list in both your phone and the car stereo like Zombie said. When BT is set to on, my BB comes up with a prompt when getting in the car each time that says that Pioneer Model X is attempting to connect. Allow? Only if you delete the device info from either unit will you have to go through the pairing and discovery process again.
