updated facebook app...what's the holdup???
 

maybe i'm just an impatient BB user, but i thought the updated facebook app was due out in january!!! well, it's february 2, and still no update! perhaps this thread is better suited in the rants and raves forum, but i just wanted to know if anyone has come across an article indicating an updated time frame for its release?

I agree, i dont know about everyone else. But i know for sure it needs a update. I dont class myself as that thick, but i just cant seem to get around the FB app like i could on the iphone.

There was an update that came out in late december, but it was pulled due to issues iirc. I had the new I couldn't see any changes at all...and then my facebook stopped syncing completely.

can i ask whats wrong with the current FB app? I just downloaded it and think its neat, but i never had an iphone so idk what its missing.....

Things the current FB for BB is lacking:

1. It's essentially a notification only app - to view profiles you must use mobile FB (web)
2. No ability to chat
3. No ability to comment on pictures, etc

It's mostly capturing notifications and displaying them with very little ability to publish much.

Ah, makes sense...I'm new to FB so its been cool using it to write on walls, and msg. but i can see the benifits of the other features

i also hate how when someone sends you a message with a link/video attached to it, you can't view it at all via the facebook app. my friends and i share a lot of funny links/videos, and i'm outta luck in viewing them until i'm finally back to a PC
