Latest OS 9000M_PBr5.0.0_rel1748_PL5.2.0.95_A5.0.0.1079

Software For BlackBerry® Bold (TM) 9000 smartphone
This will install to any carriers 9000 Bold by following the directions below.

Package Version: 5.0.0.1748
Consisting of:

Applications: 5.0.0.1079
Software Platform: 5.2.0.95
File name: 9000M_PBr5.0.0_rel1748_PL5.2.0.95_A5.0.0.1079.exe
File size: 132MB

Note: The Software Platform and Applications version numbers can be found under Options-About screen on the handheld.

1. Download the above OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml." Vista/Win7 users: In the apploader folder, simply click on "Compatibility files" to see the actual Vendor.xml file. Once you've got that - simply delete the vendor.xml file there (even if you've deleted or think you've deleted it in the folder previously) and voila, it will allow you to update to the newly installed OS!
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 20 minutes at a time while the AppLoader says "waiting for initialization."
If, for some reason, you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to the PC again and run Loader.exe again and it should load the OS to the device.

Has anyone found a link for this on a blackberry.com carrier site? I know its the same thing getting it from tmobile but im rocking some pointless paranoia wanting to get the file from the blackberry.com server instead of somewhere else.

Carriers release their own versions of the OS, so when one carrier releases a version there is no guarantee another carrier will ever release it. BlackBerrys are largely carrier-agnostic so it's safe to use ANYbody's OS version so long as it's for your exact model.

Any news about memory leaks? Battery life? After a few OS5 versions I'd back to latest 4.6 and forgot about everyday restarts cause of out of memory, but 5 OS of course more comfortable to use.

Re: Latest OS 9000M_PBr5.0.0_rel1748_PL5.2.0.95_A5.0.0.1079

I can't make it work :(
I've downloaded the file, and installed it on my PC.
I followed the steps written above and deleted the vendor.xml file.
I plug-in my BB and and double click the Loader.exe file, a dialog box pop up with list of applications i want to restored and i checked the important applications i need. Then it started the process of loading the new OS i think because my phone was in white screen for awhile and rebooted too. when it turned ON again, i checked the version of my OS if it's already new but it still indicated my old version which is V5.0.0.681.
I've tried it 3 times already, but still the same.
What could have been wrong? Am i missing something that i supposed to do? Help please... :(

already found the workaround. :) i just deleted all the files/folder of the old OS version on my PC as well as the new version i have downloaded awhile ago, then downloaded again this new version and followed all the steps again and now it's installed on my phone. :)
Thank you!
i will just observe for any difference with the old version, i'll update this post after few days.

Hello!
Please I want to have a direct link to download the file without going through the Blackberry website downloads, because with this method I can not download because the server does not allow the resume for downloads .

Often in the category of Storm there are direct links to download without going through the Blackberry website downloads.

Thank you for your help, I really want to update my BlackBerry Bold 9000.

Have you tried the suggestions given here? And which one helped you if any? I have the same problem and nothing helps. So if there is a way to fix it, I will appreciate if someone can share it with me. I am from California, https://worldpostalcode.com/united-s...ornia/san-jose . Is there anybody else from my location here on the forum? Let’s get in touch.

Generally the wifi setup is the same on all phones.

1.Select All.
2.Select Manage Connections.
3.Turn Wi-Fi on.
4.Select Set up Wi-Fi Network.
5.Select the wireless network you want to connect to.
6.Enter the Wi-Fi password and select Connect. Wi-Fi password.
7.You are now connected to the Wi-Fi network.

If your talking about data connecting on a cell phone, check with your carrier. Some have different plans and do a total data block on some plans. They only allow calls. I purchased a cheap backup phone with a basic plan and discovered all data was blocked. the plan only allowed limited calls and limited text messages. Needless to say I dumped that plan.
